Happy Chinese New Year people! It's after all still the Chinese New Year period, right? CNY holidays as all of you know have come and gone. Somehow, I wished I could have grasped and made use of each moment better. Well, 7 more agonizing weeks before I officially finished year 1 of university life. CNY this year was rather different, I don't really know what words to use to describe it but it's just different from previous years. Perhaps the transition from carefree teenage life to serious young adult has finally sipped in. Nonetheless, it was still a great time catching up with relatives and friends. Not forgetting the ever growing amount of Ang Pow $$..XD
I was sitting in lecture earlier and started to daydream a little. I just realized that I had somehow misused my 20 years of life so far. I did not exactly utilized very well, or rather I learnt from mistakes. Haha. There's just so many things I figured out I have not learnt or done. Shoots..Turning 20 is pretty scary! Well, I guess all I can do now is start using time better and use every seconds wisely. Maybe I can start with spending more time with God..then books..haha..Hello World, Bye Bye CNY..

Negeri Di Bawah Bayu
I am back! For those who don't know, I went over to Sabah last Thursday, thus the title of my post, Sabah's nickname. It was my 1st time going over to East Malaysia and landing on Kota Kinabalu ( KK ) was really exciting. I was there to participate in the Borneo Debating Championship organised by UMS. It was a good learning yet traumatizing tournament, but visiting Sabah was definitely fun!
1st up, I met up with Paulus on Friday, had a short and good time catching up and meeting his cell leader, getting to know 1st hand how he's living over in Sabah. Was supposed to join him for cg that night but debate ended very late thus I could not. Instead, we went to Filipino Market to eat grilled seafood. It's really cheap, but not very clean. Some were really fresh and delicious, others, debateable. Haha. Oh yea, I also got to travel around UMS and got a good view of the campus.
Saturday came and we went to Mamutik Island, a beautiful island off the shores of KK. We went there by boat and did some water activities. Well, I chose to just walked around and snapped pictures instead of being in the water. It was a very relaxing and fun time. At night, it was free and easy and we just walked around KK town to further explore it. It's definitely eye opening to see lives of Sabahan and despite KK being a city, we still do get to see scenes similar to Slumdog Millionaire.
I went to Skyline Church on Sunday, courtesy of Esther, Paulus's friend in Sabah. It was really different attending a service in a charismatic church and attending a church based in a hotel by the seaside! The sermon was good too. It made me realised that whether as a Christian or a debater, if I do not have the substance or materials, which comes by lots of hard work, I will not be able to proceed further. I will always just remain in the morality plain and also lawlessness as preached by the pastor. It was like a knock in the head after so long to really touch on my laziness issue to read, both the bible and my studies materials. I did not do well for some of my papers btw!>.<
Monday morning came and we explored more of KK, buyingh souvenirs for friends and family. It was a great time making so many new friends and added onto my map that I have explored another place. Hehe. Pictures will be up soon on my facebook. Next up, Chinese New Year!!
